Alright, so the other day I was trying to find some movies that felt like “The Intern”. You know, that feel-good vibe with a bit of workplace drama, maybe some mentorship thrown in. Here’s how I went about it, and what I found.
My Search Mission
First, I grabbed my laptop and fired up my go-to movie site. I wasn’t really sure where to start, honestly. I just knew I wanted something…similar. I typed “The Intern” in the search bar first, just to see what its own recommendations were. I ignored the sequels, I don’t want that.
Then, I thought, “Okay, what’s really at the heart of ‘The Intern’?” It’s about an older guy getting back into the game, right? And there’s this cool, younger boss lady. So I started looking for movies with similar themes.

Digging Deeper
I started looking for the “workplace comedy” genre. That turned up a bunch of stuff, some of which I’d already seen. “Office Space”? Classic, but not quite what I was after. “9 to 5”? Fun, but a little too…vintage.
I refined my search. I tried adding keywords like “mentorship,” “intergenerational,” and even “feel-good.” That helped narrow things down a bit.I also started looking at some “related movies” lists on random websites.
My Discoveries
- I found “The Devil Wears Prada”. Yeah, it’s got the fashion industry thing, but it’s more about the cutthroat boss than the intern experience. Still good, though!
- Then I stumbled upon “Chef”. Hear me out – it’s about a guy reinventing himself, starting something new, and finding his passion. A bit different, but similar good energy.
- I also discovered that some folks recommended “The Intern” is similar to “The Pursuit of Happyness”. Totally get that – it’s got that “against the odds” vibe, and the whole father-son dynamic adds a layer of heart.
- “Morning Glory” popped up too. It is about a young woman takes on a challenging role in a new workplace. Fits the bill, I guess!
Basically, I went down a rabbit hole, clicking on one movie after another. It was kind of fun, actually. I’ve got a whole list of movies to check out now, all thanks to trying to find something like “The Intern.” My evening was totally sorted!
