Alright, so yesterday I was scrolling through my phone, trying to find something interesting to watch, yeah? I stumbled upon this movie called “They Look Like People”, and let me tell you, it got me thinking, what other movies are out there that are kind of like this one? You know, those flicks that really mess with your head, psychological thrillers, that sort of thing. So I started digging.
First, I just went to my go-to streaming service. I typed in “They Look Like People” and started looking at the “You might also like” section. That gave me a few ideas, but honestly, nothing really jumped out at me. So, I broadened my search a bit.
I hit up Google and typed in something like, “movies similar to They Look Like People”. That’s where things got interesting. I started seeing some recurring titles. Like, a bunch of lists kept mentioning movies like “Gerald’s Game” and “Under the Shadow”. Also saw something about a movie called “His House” where, apparently, some refugees escape from South Sudan. Sounds intense, right?
So I made a list:
- Gerald’s Game – This one seems to be a Netflix original, and it got some good reviews. Like, a 4.5 out of 5 on some site called “Next Best Picture”. I guess that’s good?
- Under the Shadow – People on the internet seem to like this, I saw someone say they love horror movies and this one was good, then they started talking about Fortnite… whatever, I like horror too, I’ll check it out.
- His House – This one is about refugees, which is a bit different, but it sounds intense and maybe has a similar vibe.
Then I thought, what about actually going to a theater? I like the whole experience, the big screen, the popcorn, you know? So I searched for “Cinemark movie theaters near me”, figured I could see if any of these were playing.
Turns out, there’s a Cinemark pretty close to me! They even have “Discount Tuesdays”, where the tickets are cheaper. That’s definitely something to keep in mind.
So, my plan is this: I’m gonna check out those three movies I found online – “Gerald’s Game”, “Under the Shadow”, and “His House”. If I like them, maybe I’ll see if they’re playing at the Cinemark, especially on a Tuesday. If not, I can always just watch them at home.
Honestly, this whole search has been kinda fun. It’s like a little treasure hunt for movies. And who knows, maybe I’ll find some other hidden gems along the way. I’ll keep you guys updated!
