Alright, so the other day I was really in the mood for a creature feature, something with teeth and a bit of a thrill. I’d seen “The Black Demon” and really dug it, so I was like, “Let’s find more movies like The Black Demon!”
First, I grabbed my phone and fired up my go-to movie app. I think I just typed in “shark movies” or something basic like that to start. Gotta cast a wide net, you know?
I scrolled through a bunch of the usual suspects – you know, the “Jaws” sequels, “Deep Blue Sea,” that kind of thing. Been there, done that. I wanted something a little…* with the same kind of vibe of primal fear
Then I opened a new tab in my browser and hit up a couple of movie forums. I figured real people, not just algorithms, might have some good suggestions.
- I found a thread on one forum dedicated to “monster movies,” and someone had actually mentioned “The Black Demon” in passing! It was a gold mine.
- I also found a few Reddit threads. There is always somebody talking movies on reddit.
Looking for similar movies
From those threads, I started jotting down titles that sounded promising. I looked for keywords like “megalodon,” “prehistoric,” “ocean terror,” stuff like that.I needed a movie with large creature.
After getting a decent list, I went back to my streaming services and started searching those titles. I’d watch the trailers, read the descriptions, maybe check out a few reviews to get a sense of whether it was what I was looking for.
It took a bit of digging, but I finally landed on a couple that seemed like they’d hit the spot. One was an older movie, and the other was something more recent that I’d never even heard of. Success!
So yeah, that’s pretty much my process. Nothing fancy, just a little bit of persistence and some help from fellow movie fans. It’s always fun to go down these rabbit holes and discover something new, or even rediscover an old favorite.
And Now,I can have a wonderful night with those movies.
