Okay, so the other day I was in the mood for something, you know, kinda dark and twisty, with that whole rich-people-behaving-badly vibe. I immediately thought of “Cruel Intentions,” but I’d seen it a million times. So, I decided to find some movies that were similar.
First, I jumped onto Google. Nothing fancy, just typed in “movies like Cruel Intentions.”
I skimmed through a bunch of lists and articles. Lots of the same suggestions kept popping up.
My Watchlist
- “Dangerous Liaisons” – I knew it’s what Cruel Intentions are based off.
- “Wild Things”– Total classic, had to put this in my list.
- “The Rules of Attraction” – I don’t know, but the plot makes me think.
I picked “Dangerous Liaisons” first. It’s the original story, so I figured it was a good starting point.
I found it online. Watched the movie, and I think it’s good. It has the feeling I’m looking for.
Then, I moved on to “Wild Things.” Total classic, and a lot of twists I didn’t see coming. It’s more modern than “Dangerous Liaisons,” closer to the “Cruel Intentions” setting.
I haven’t gotten to “The Rules of Attraction,” but it is on my list!
So, that’s how I spent my weekend – diving into the world of manipulative characters and messed-up relationships. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but hey, sometimes you just need a little bit of that guilty-pleasure drama, right?
