Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this “Before I Fall” movie thing. Now, I ain’t no fancy movie person, but I heard folks talkin’ about it, so I figured I’d see what the fuss was all about. It’s one of them films where the girl keeps livin’ the same day over and over. Sounds kinda crazy, don’t it? But stick with me, I’ll tell ya what I know.
First off, they made this movie up in Canada. Yep, up there where it’s cold. Vancouver, they say. Heard it’s a pretty place. Lots of mountains and trees, not like here where it’s just flat. They used that place for the outside scenes, ya know, the ones where the kids are walkin’ around and stuff.
- They filmed some of it at a university. Quest University, they call it. Fancy name for a school, if ya ask me. That’s where they shot the school scenes. You know, the classrooms and hallways. Bet them kids got tired of walkin’ around all day.
- There’s this one part where the girls are eatin’ in the school cafeteria. They filmed that in Canada too. Looks like any other school lunchroom, nothin’ special. Just tables and chairs and kids eatin’ slop.
Now, this movie ain’t real, ya know. It’s made up. Based on some book, I hear. A young lady wrote it. Story’s about this girl named Samantha. She’s one of them teenagers. Always on their phones and such. Don’t know what the world’s comin’ to with these kids.
Anyways, they started shootin’ the movie back in 2015. Took ’em a month or so to get it all done. They filmed in all sorts of places. Some farm, too. Rathbun Farm, I think they said. Imagine that, a bunch of movie people traipsin’ around a farm. Bet them cows were confused.
The movie’s about this girl Sam, and she keeps relivin’ the same day. February 12th, to be exact. I don’t know why that day’s so special, but it must be important if she keeps goin’ back to it. She’s gotta figure out some mystery, they say. Sounds like a puzzle to me.
They filmed in some other towns too. Places called Pittsfield, Lee, Great Barrington, and Lenox. Never heard of ’em myself, but I guess they’re nice enough for a movie. Probably got some pretty scenery, just like Vancouver.
This Zoey Deutch girl, she’s the main character in the movie. Plays that Samantha girl. Don’t know her from Adam, but I guess she’s a good actress if they put her in a movie. She’s probably got one of them pretty faces, the kind they like in Hollywood.
So, that’s about all I know ’bout this “Before I Fall” movie. Filmed in Canada, lots of different places. About a girl relivin’ the same day. Got some mystery to it. And a pretty actress. If you like them kinda movies, then maybe you’ll like this one. Me? I’ll stick to my stories on the TV. At least them make sense most of the time.
