Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about this show called “Beacon 23” lately. It’s like, everywhere. People are talking about it, it’s popping up on my social media feeds, and I was kinda curious. So, I decided to check it out and see what all the fuss is about.
First, I did a quick search to get a basic idea of the show. Turns out, it’s a sci-fi thriller series, which immediately caught my interest because I’m a big fan of sci-fi stuff. This one is created by a guy named Zak Penn, and it stars Lena Headey and Stephan James. I recognized Lena Headey’s name – she was in that big show, you know, the one with the dragons.
Then I found out that the show is based on some short stories by an author called Hugh Howey. Apparently, he initially wanted each story in “Beacon 23” to be like fan fiction written by different authors, which sounded kinda cool. But then he ended up making them all about the same characters.
I dug a little deeper to find the synopsis. It’s set in the 23rd century, in some far-off part of the Milky Way. It follows these two characters, Aster and Halan, who find themselves on this thing called Beacon 23. From what I could gather, a beacon is like a lighthouse in space, supposed to keep spaceships safe from dark matter. Sounds pretty intense, right?
So, I started watching the show. The first season premiered on MGM+ last November. Oh man, it was a wild ride. Aster, played by Lena Headey, and Halan, played by Stephan James, are constantly facing danger. It’s like one threat after another. They are stuck on this beacon, which is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, and things just keep getting crazier. It’s a full-on psychological thriller. I could not stop watching, just to see what kind of crazy stuff would happen next.
I just found out there’s gonna be a second season, and the synopsis for that is even wilder. It says that Beacon 23 is basically a prison now, with this AI thing called Aleph onboard. This is gonna be insane, I think I might have to watch it as soon as it’s released.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with “Beacon 23” so far. It’s a pretty cool show if you’re into sci-fi and thrillers. I just wanted to share my experience with you guys, maybe some of you will get hooked, too! I think it’s pretty cool, and I’m gonna keep an eye on it. It’s got a lot of potential, you know?
