Anime Night The Foundry is Coming: Get Ready for the Fun

Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta talk about this here Anime Night thing at The Foundry. Sounds like a big to-do, eh? I ain’t never been to one of these “anime” shows, but my grandkid, that whippersnapper, talks about it all the darn time. Says it’s like, uh, cartoons, but for grown-ups. Go figure!

So, first things first, what is this Foundry place anyway? Seems like it’s a spot over in Philadelphia. My nephew, he went to Philly once, said it’s a big ol’ city. Probably got more bricks than my whole darn town! Anyway, this Foundry, it ain’t just some dusty ol’ barn. It’s a fancy place, I reckon. They got shows and music and all sorts of stuff going on there.

And this Anime Night, well, it ain’t for little kids, that’s for sure. They say it’s 18 and over, so you gotta be a grown-up to get in. Maybe that’s why my grandkid ain’t been yet. He’s still wet behind the ears, you know? But hey, maybe I’ll sneak in myself! Just kidding, y’all, just kidding. An old woman like me got no business at a grown-up cartoon party.

Now, they say you gotta get tickets for this shindig. Tickets! Back in my day, you just showed up and sat on a hay bale if you wanted to see somethin’. But I guess times have changed. They got these tickets online, I hear. You gotta go to some website or somethin’ and pay money. And it ain’t cheap, I bet. City folk and their fancy ways, I tell ya.

  • What is it? It’s a party for grown-ups who like them Japanese cartoons, the anime stuff.
  • Where is it? At this place called The Foundry over in Philadelphia. A big city place, mind you.
  • Who can go? Grown-ups only! Gotta be 18 or older. No young’uns allowed.
  • How do you get in? You gotta buy a ticket, like going to the pictures, but probably more expensive.
  • When is it? Well, they had one in December, and another one in January. Sounds like they have them all the time. Gotta check online for the dates, I guess.

They say this Foundry place is part of somethin’ bigger, called the Fillmore. Sounds like a fancy movie theater. But this Foundry part, it’s smaller, more cozy-like. For up-and-comin’ artists, they say. So, maybe these anime folks ain’t so famous yet, but they’re tryin’ to make a name for themselves. Good for them, I say. Everybody gotta start somewhere.

I heard tell they play music at these Anime Nights too. Not the kind of music I listen to, mind you. I like my country and gospel. But this is, what do they call it, electronic dance music? Sounds like a bunch of noise to me, but the young folks seem to like it. They jump around and wave their arms and have a grand ol’ time. Makes my old bones ache just thinkin’ about it.

So, if you’re one of them anime fans, and you’re in Philly, or you can get there somehow, maybe you wanna check out this Anime Night at The Foundry. Sounds like a hoot, even if I don’t understand it one bit. Just make sure you got your ticket and your dancin’ shoes. And don’t forget to tell me all about it, you hear? I’m curious to know what all the fuss is about.

They even got tours, like a real concert. These anime nights ain’t just a one-time thing, I guess. They go all over the place. So, if you miss the one in Philly, maybe they’ll be comin’ to a town near you. Just gotta keep your eyes peeled and your ears open. Or, you know, ask your grandkid. They seem to know everything these days.

And one more thing, they say you can buy tickets from somethin’ called Vivid Seats. I ain’t never heard of it, but sounds like they sell tickets to all sorts of shows, not just this anime stuff. So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do, maybe check them out. Just be careful, don’t spend all your hard-earned money on them fancy city entertainments. You gotta save some for a rainy day, you know.

Well, that’s all I know about this Anime Night at The Foundry. Hope it was helpful, even if I sound like an old fool. Just tryin’ to keep up with the young folks, that’s all. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed my chickens.
