Well, let me tell ya, this “A Nearly Normal Family” thing on Netflix, it’s somethin’ alright. It’s about this family, you see, and somethin’ bad happened to ’em four years back. Don’t rightly know what it was, but it messed ’em up good.
Now, they say it’s a murder mystery, this show. Folks get killed, and you gotta figure out who done it. Seems like there’s lots of secrets in this family, everyone hidin’ stuff. Keeps ya guessin’, that’s for sure.
- Folks dyin’.
- Lots of secrets.
- Family troubles.
They filmed it in Swedish, with them little words at the bottom of the screen. Some folks like that kinda thing, makes it seem fancy. Me? I just wanna know what’s goin’ on.
This fella who wrote about it, he says it’s “solid.” Means it’s good, I reckon. But he also says it’s too long, drags on a bit. Can’t say I disagree. They go on and on sometimes, ‘stead of just gettin’ to the point. And he says it’s “Euro-drama.” Whatever that means. Sounds fancy again.
They call it a “mini-series,” like it’s all wrapped up in one go. Don’t be expectin’ another season, they say. Probably for the best, less confusion. Some of these shows, they just keep goin’ and goin’, gettin’ all mixed up.
Now, they say it ain’t a true story. Just made up. But it sure feels real sometimes. The way them folks act, the things they say. Reminds me of folks I know, always hidin’ somethin’, lyin’ to each other.
This girl, Stella, she’s important in the story. She remembers stuff, little bits and pieces. At the end, it shows she stabbed this fella Chris, after he chased her and her friend. Guess he deserved it, runnin’ after girls with a knife. But it’s still sad, all that killin’.
They give it 3.5 stars out of 5. That’s alright, I guess. Not the best, not the worst. Just… alright.
Some folks say the show looks good, all shiny and fancy. But it ain’t enough, they say. The story’s too long, too slow. And it ain’t as good as it thinks it is. Just “nearly” good. Almost there, but not quite.
So, should ya watch it? Well, if ya like them murder mysteries, and ya don’t mind a bit of draggin’, then maybe. It ain’t perfect, but it’ll keep ya busy for a while. Just don’t expect it to change your life or nothin’.
It’s just a story, after all. About a family that ain’t quite normal. Just like the rest of us, I reckon.
