Okay, so the other day I was trying to find some movies that gave me the same creepy vibes as “In the Tall Grass.” You know, that feeling of being totally lost and something sinister lurking just out of sight? I really dig that kind of suspense, so I started digging around.
My Movie Hunt
First, I jumped on Google, obviously. I typed in stuff like “movies similar to In the Tall Grass” and “movies about getting lost.” I scrolled through a bunch of articles and lists, some helpful, some not so much. A few titles kept popping up, so I made a note of those.
Then, I hit up some of my usual movie forums and communities. I figured real people might have some good, under-the-radar suggestions. I posted a question asking for recommendations, explaining what I liked about “In the Tall Grass” – the disorientation, the mystery, that sort of thing.
I also checked out some of those “If you like this, you’ll like that” sections on streaming services. They’re not always spot-on, but sometimes you can find a hidden gem.
While my searching, I got some pretyt good results!
The Results
After a few hours of searching and asking around, here’s what I came up with:
- Triangle (2009): Okay, this one’s a mind-bender. It’s about a group of friends on a yachting trip who encounter a ghost ship. Things get really weird, really fast. Lots of loops and repetition, similar to the time-bending stuff in “In the Tall Grass.”
- The Ritual (2017): This one’s more of a creature feature, but it has that same feeling of dread and being hunted in the wilderness. A group of friends go hiking in Sweden and, well, let’s just say they should have stayed home.
- Vivarium(2019):wow, a young couple looking for a perfect home find themselves trapped in a mysterious labyrinth-like suburban * familiar,right?
- Coherence (2013): This is a low-budget, high-concept thriller. It’s about a group of friends at a dinner party who experience some seriously strange phenomena when a comet passes overhead. Really messes with your head.
- A Field in England (2013): A super weird, experimental movie that got recommend a * takes place during the English Civil War, and a bunch of guys in a big field eat some wild mushrooms. Let’s just say that it is a “trip” in every sense of the *’s not for everyone, but it definitely has that unsettling, disorienting vibe.
