Okay, so I’ve been on this huge fantasy movie kick lately, and after re-watching Maleficent for like, the tenth time, I was like, “I need MORE movies like this!” So, I started digging around, trying to find similar stuff. Here’s how my search went down:
My “Maleficent-Like” Movie Quest
First, I thought about what I actually liked about Maleficent. It’s not just the fantasy part, it’s the whole “misunderstood villain” thing, the cool magic, and the strong female lead. Plus, the visuals are just stunning.
So, I jumped onto Google, of course. My first search was super basic, just “movies similar to Maleficent”. Honestly, that gave me a bunch of random lists, some helpful, some not so much.
I started making a list of the movies that popped up most often. These were some of the names I kept seeing:
- Snow White and the Huntsman: This one seemed like a no-brainer, another dark twist on a classic fairy tale.
- Oz the Great and Powerful: Another “origin story” for a famous villain, this one seemed promising.
- Alice in Wonderland: the 2010 version, Because, I felt like this might have a similar visual vibe.
After making the list, I started to check each movie. And finally, I found the movies I want.
