Okay, so the other day I was totally bummed because I finished “The Mindy Project” (again!) and was like, “What do I watch now?!” It’s such a fun, quirky show, and I needed something to fill that void. So, I started my quest for shows that gave me the same vibe.
First, I hit up Google. Just a simple search, you know, “shows like The Mindy Project”. I scrolled through a bunch of articles and lists. Some suggestions were okay, others were way off. It’s tough because Mindy Kaling’s humor is so unique!
Then, I asked my friends on social media. A few of them are total TV junkies like me, so I figured they’d have some good ideas. And some did, and some just ask me to watch other animes. I got a couple of solid recommendations from them, which I added to my growing list.

My Watchlist Methods
- Google Search: A must for a broad overview.
- Friends Recommendations:The most trusted suggestions.
- IMDB/Rotten Tomatoes:Check the comments sometimes, people are always comparing.
Next, I went to IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. I started looking up the shows that came up repeatedly, reading reviews and watching trailers. This is where I start getting picky. I mean, the trailer has to grab me, right? If the trailer is boring, I’m probably not going to like the show.
I made a list, ranking shows based on how many times they were recommended and how much I liked the look of them. I try to be organized, but really it’s just a messy note on my phone.
Finally, I started watching! Some shows were instant hits. Others, not so much. It’s all trial and error, really. I’ve found a couple that I’m really enjoying, and I’m still working my way through the list. It’s a fun process, even if it’s a bit time-consuming. Finding that next great show is always worth it, though!
