Okay, so I’ve been on this quest to find movies that give off the same vibes as “The Book of Life.” You know, that awesome animated movie with the amazing visuals and the whole Day of the Dead theme? I loved it, and I wanted more.
So, I started by, you know, just plain old Googling. I typed in stuff like “movies similar to The Book of Life” and “animated movies Day of the Dead.” Pretty basic, right?
This gave me a bunch of lists, mostly from movie review sites and blogs. I started jotting down the names that popped up a lot.
My Watchlist Forming
- Coco: This one came up everywhere. It’s also about the Day of the Dead, and it’s from Disney/Pixar, so I figured the animation would be top-notch.
- Corpse Bride: I’d actually seen this one before, but it had been a while. It’s got that gothic, slightly spooky feel, and it’s stop-motion, which is cool.
- 9:I’ve heard of it before,It’s a darker theme about animated * interesting!
Then I went a bit deeper. I started looking at forums, like Reddit. I figured real people’s opinions would be more helpful than just lists made by websites. Found some interesting threads on subreddits about animation and movies.
Someone on Reddit suggested checking out movies by a certain director,It’s a very famous animator, because of the visual style. I wrote his work list and will watch it.
After spending like a full evening and the whole next day, I’ve built a pretty solid list,I’ve even started watching, and it is excellent!
So, yeah, that’s pretty much how I went about it. Lots of Googling, reading lists, diving into forums, and taking notes. Good Fun!
