Okay, so I’ve been on this kick lately, trying to find shows that give me that same weird, unsettling, and thought-provoking vibe as “Raised by Wolves.” It’s a tough itch to scratch, you know? That show was so unique, with its androids and mythology and crazy visuals. I set off on a journey to discover something that felt like it in ways.
First, I jumped on Reddit. I figured, who better to ask than a bunch of other sci-fi nerds, right? I found a few threads about shows similar to “Raised by Wolves,” and people were throwing out all kinds of names.
I made a list of the most frequently mentioned ones. Some that popped up a lot were:

- “The Expanse”: Everyone kept saying this was a must-watch for any sci-fi fan, and it was suggested by a few commenters, so I figured, why not?
- “Foundation”: This one’s based on Isaac Asimov’s books, the godfather of scifi.
- “Westworld”: I saw some chatter about the android themes being a common thread.
- “Battlestar Galactica”: I even saw a few recommendations for the old, original series.
I started with “The Expanse”, mostly because of the non-stop, almost annoying, level of hype. I’d heard about it everywhere I looked.
I binged the first three episodes.
It’s…good. Definitely a solid space opera, with political intrigue and some cool action sequences. But, honestly, it wasn’t hitting that same “Raised by Wolves” spot for me. It felt more like a traditional sci-fi show, missing that strange, almost philosophical weirdness.
Next up, I gave “Foundation” a shot. I went in with high expectations, given the source material. The visuals were stunning, I’ll give it that. The story is huge, spanning centuries and galaxies. I can see some common threads like huge sweeping stories.
I watched the first two episodes.
My verdict? It’s ambitious, for sure. But I found myself feeling a little…lost. There are so many characters and timelines, it was hard to keep track of everything. It was a little closer to what I was looking for, but maybe not close enough.
Then I tried “Westworld” Season 1.
Now this felt a bit closer to what I was after! The androids, the questions about consciousness and humanity, the underlying sense of dread… it definitely had some of that “Raised by Wolves” DNA. The mystery element was strong, and I found myself constantly trying to figure out what was real and what wasn’t.

I powered through the whole first season in like, two days.
I’m still on the hunt, though. I’ve got “Battlestar Galactica” on my list, and I might even check out some of the older, more obscure suggestions I found. This search might take a while, but the discovery is part of the fun, right? It might take a little longer, but I am not stopping until I find a show with that feeling!
