Alright, so the other day I was on a mission. A mission to find more anime movies that hit you right in the feels, just like “Grave of the Fireflies.” You know, the kind that leave you a sobbing mess but in a good way? Yeah, those.

First, I hit up some anime forums. I figured, who better to ask than a bunch of fellow weebs, right? I posted a question, basically begging for suggestions. I waited, refreshing the page like a maniac, and boom! The recommendations started flooding in.

I decided to start with “In This Corner of the World.” I’d heard it was similar to “Grave of the Fireflies” in that it’s set during World War II and focuses on the struggles of ordinary people. I grabbed some snacks, dimmed the lights, and hit play.
Man, was it a tearjerker! The animation was beautiful, and the story was just so heartbreaking. It definitely captured that same sense of loss and resilience that “Grave of the Fireflies” did. I totally cried. A lot.
