Okay, so, the other day I was trying to find something to watch, and I was in a very specific mood. I wanted something light, but also… you know… spicy. And then I remembered “The Intern,” that movie with Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. Super charming, right? But I was thinking, what if we took that basic setup – older person in a new, younger environment – and, like, turned up the heat?
So I started brainstorming. What would that even look like? I figured it had to be summer, because, duh, summer is for flings. And it had to involve someone older, experiencing some kind of, shall we say, reawakening.
First, I just started Googling stuff. I literally typed in things like “movies like The Intern but sexy” and “older woman younger man romance movies.” Don’t judge, we’ve all been there.
I got a bunch of the usual suspects – “How Stella Got Her Groove Back”, “Prime”, some others I can’t even remember. Watched a few trailers. Some were close, some were way off. They had the age gap thing, but not quite the vibe I was going for. I wanted less full-blown romance, more… fun and flirty, with a side of self-discovery.
Then I changed up my search terms.
I tried, ‘summer flings older women movies’, then went down the rabbit holes.
It took a while, seriously, scrolling through pages and pages of results, watching random clips, and reading a ton of reviews. Finally I thought to my self that I should probably give up, the internet is great and all, but can be a waste of time.
And that is what I found! It’s like, the idea of the movie is more fun to think about then find other movies to watch that are already made. I guess that is what makes the movie “The Intern” so great, there is not a lot of other movies like it!
