Okay, so I got curious about where they filmed that classic Wyatt Earp movie, you know, the one with Kevin Costner. I always assumed it was, like, Arizona or something, ’cause that’s where the real deal went down. But I figured I’d do some digging and see what I could find.
Start My Research
First, I just did a quick search, basic stuff. You know, typing in “where was Wyatt Earp filmed” and seeing what popped up. The usual suspects came up first, you know, movie info sites, and some forums.
I started clicking around, reading through some of the initial results. Got some general locations, but nothing too specific. So, I refined search a bit, tried some different phrases.

Digging Deeper
Then I started looking at more specific film websites. Ones dedicated to movie locations, you know. That got me some more detailed results. Finally found some fan and historical websites.
Found location
Turns out, a good chunk of it was filmed in New Mexico, around Santa Fe! I saw some mentions of places like Las Golondrinas Ranch. Looks beautiful, actually. Seems like they used a lot of spots around there to recreate that old west vibe.
My Thoughts
I’m always amazed how they can transform a place to look like a totally different era. I mean, I’m sure they added sets and stuff, but still, pretty cool to think that a lot of those scenes were shot in a place that still exists and you could even visit, potentially.
So, yeah, my little research project for the day. New Mexico, mainly, for the Wyatt Earp movie. Who knew?
