Disney Immersive Experience Boston Reviews: Family Fun or a Flop? (See What Others Are Saying)

I’ve heard a lot about this Disney Immersive Experience in Boston, so I decided to check it out. I mean, who doesn’t love Disney, right?

First off, I went ahead and bought the tickets online. They were a bit pricey, but I thought, “Hey, it’s Disney!” I opted for the regular tickets ’cause I didn’t think the skip-the-line thing was necessary.

So, the day came, and I headed over to the Lighthouse ArtSpace in Boston. The place was easy to find, and there was a decent amount of parking nearby.

When I got inside, I was expecting a huge crowd, but it wasn’t too bad. I guess going on a weekday helped. I showed my tickets, got a wristband, and walked in.

The first part was like a little museum. There were sketches and artwork from different Disney movies. It was cool to see the behind-the-scenes stuff, but nothing mind-blowing.

Then, I moved into the main room. This is where the “immersive” part happens. There were projections all over the walls and floor, playing scenes from various Disney films. The music was blasting, and there were some interactive elements, like bubbles and confetti during certain parts.

  • The visuals were okay.
  • The music was definitely loud, maybe a bit too loud.
  • There were quite a few kids running around, enjoying themselves.

Honestly, I was a bit underwhelmed. I mean, it was cool to be surrounded by Disney stuff, but I didn’t really feel “immersed.” It felt more like watching a big, animated wallpaper. Maybe I’m just getting old and less easy to impress, my sister told me she loved it but I guess it was different strokes for different folks.

After about an hour, I decided to leave. There’s a gift shop on the way out, filled with the usual Disney merchandise. I didn’t buy anything ’cause, well, I’d already spent enough on the tickets.

Overall, I’d say the Disney Immersive Experience is okay if you’re a die-hard Disney fan or if you have kids who are easily entertained.

But if you’re expecting a truly immersive, mind-blowing experience, you might be disappointed. It’s more like a fancy movie screening with some extra bells and whistles. Save your money and just watch your favorite Disney movie at home, in my opinion.
