Alright, guys, so I’ve been digging into this whole “Dr. Death” show, right? It’s pretty wild. And of course, I got curious about where they actually filmed this thing. So, I started doing some digging, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey.
First Attempts
Initially, I just did some basic searches online, trying to find any articles or behind-the-scenes stuff that might mention the filming locations. I found a few things here and there, but nothing super concrete. A lot of it was just general stuff, like, “Oh, it was filmed in New Mexico.” Okay, great, but New Mexico is a big state! I wanted specifics, you know?
Digging Deeper
So, I started looking into individual episodes, trying to spot any landmarks or recognizable buildings. I spent hours pausing and rewinding, trying to compare what I saw on screen with images from various places in New Mexico. It was a bit like playing detective, but, you know, a really low-stakes version. I even tried to find local news articles or reports about filming in certain areas. Sometimes, these local stories will give you the inside scoop, you know? They are happy to share that.
Figuring it Out
- Hospitals: A lot of the show takes place in hospitals, obviously. I figured those would be a good place to start. I spent a good chunk of time trying to match up the hospital interiors with real hospitals in New Mexico. It was tough because, let’s be honest, a lot of hospitals look pretty similar. I cross-referenced hospital names mentioned in the show with real ones, scoured their websites for photos, and even looked at some virtual tours.
- Courtrooms: There were also a bunch of courtroom scenes. Again, I did the same thing – comparing what I saw on screen with photos of real courtrooms. I tried to find any unique features or architectural details that might help me narrow it down. They might find some clues from traffic flows.
- Other Locations: Then there were the houses, offices, and other random places. For those, I mostly relied on looking for any exterior shots that might show street signs, local businesses, or anything else that could give away the location. This process is like what LawCrime Daily did when they wanted to find a location.
What I Found
After all that, I did manage to piece together a few things. I’m pretty sure that one of the main hospitals was actually filmed in an abandoned healthcare facility. I found an old news article about it being closed down, and the dates lined up with when they were filming the show. I also think I figured out which courthouse they used, based on the layout of the courtroom and the windows. Those guys should have known the process of informed consent. But, of course, I could be wrong about some of this. Film crews are good at making places look different than they really are. The whole process reminded me of how tricky it can be to investigate a worksite incident, trying to figure out what really happened. It’s a puzzle, for sure.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the filming locations of “Dr. Death.” It was a fun little project, even if I didn’t get all the answers.
