Okay, so I’ve been on this kick lately, right? Trying to find movies that give me the same vibes as “In the Shadow of the Moon.” That movie messed me up in the best way possible, and I needed more. So I started by just typing “movies like in the shadow of the moon” into Google, you know, the usual.
First thing I did was, I made a list of what I liked about “In the Shadow of the Moon.” Time travel, mystery, a bit of a thriller vibe. That was my starting point.
Then I hit up a bunch of movie forums and websites. I started reading through recommendations, making a big ol’ list of anything that sounded even remotely similar. “Blaxploitation film”, “antiwar protests”, “Blackenstein”, “The Silence of the Lambs” all went on the list. Some of them, I could tell right away they weren’t what I was looking for. Some, like some of them from 70s seemed promising. I ended up cutting that initial list in about half, maybe even more.
Then came the fun part – actually watching the movies! I started with the ones that seemed the most promising, the ones that really screamed “In the Shadow of the Moon” to me, like this one “The Silence of the Lambs” I remember seeing.
The Result?
Honestly, it was a mixed bag. Some movies were awesome, some were total duds. But I did find a few that scratched that “In the Shadow of the Moon” itch. It was a lot of work, but hey, it was a fun little project. And now I’ve got a whole new list of movies to recommend to people who are looking for something similar. Plus I watched some of those “Blaxploitation” movies, and man, those were wild. Totally not what I was expecting, but entertaining nonetheless. You gotta see them. Also I found “That Man Bolt” and It’s cool too.
