Okay, so, I was thinking about watching “Pokémon Detective Pikachu” again the other day, and it got me thinking about other movies that have a similar vibe. You know, that mix of live-action and CGI, maybe a bit of mystery, that kind of thing. So, I decided to do a little digging and see what I could find.
First, I hit up Google. Just typed in “movies like Pokémon Detective Pikachu” and a bunch of stuff popped up. Lots of articles and lists. I clicked on a few of them and started reading through the suggestions. It was a bit overwhelming, honestly. There are a lot of movies out there!
I started jotting down some names that seemed interesting. Then I went to one of those free movie sites. I know, I know, not the most legitimate thing, but hey, I wanted to check out some trailers and see what looked good. I just typed the movie name on one of the free movie sites that I found through Google Search.
After watching a few trailers, I narrowed down my list. I decided I wanted to find movies that really captured that same feeling I got from “Detective Pikachu”. It’s hard to describe, but it’s like, a sense of wonder, a bit of humor, and maybe some cool creature designs.
Some of the movies I checked out were:
- “Sonic the Hedgehog”– This one seemed like a pretty obvious choice. It’s got that same video game adaptation thing going on.
- “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” – This one’s a classic, mixing live-action and animation in a really cool way. It’s got that detective/mystery element too.
- “Space Jam” – Another classic. It doesn’t have the mystery angle, but it’s got that fun, cartoony vibe.
I ended up making a little list on my phone of movies I wanted to check out. I also went ahead and downloaded one. It had a link for downloading a CIA file of a movie. I’m not sure what that means, but the website seems to have a lot of visitors, so it looked legit. I’m thinking of starting with that one. It was a bit of a process, but I think I’ve got a good starting point now. I’ll let you guys know what I think after I’ve watched a few of them!
I just want to chill with some good movies after work, and I think I found some good ones.
