Okay, so, I got my hands on this Raise3D Pro3 printer about a week ago. My boss actually got it for me. I had been printing some stuff on my own printer, a Prusa MK3S+, for work, and I guess they finally decided to get me a proper workhorse. Now, this thing is a whole different beast compared to my little Prusa.
First off, the unboxing. Man, this thing is huge! I watched some videos online before receiving it, which showed the whole unpacking process. It’s pretty straightforward. Everything’s packed really well, all snug and secure. You just gotta follow the steps, take your time, and you’ll have it out of the box in no time.
Setting it up was surprisingly easy. The videos I watched were a big help, walking me through all the steps. They’ve got a whole series for the Pro3, so you can just follow along. They have all the instructions to get you going quickly, I mean, really quickly, in minutes, you’re ready to print. They made it a really friendly experience even though this is a professional tool for experts.
Now, this is a dual extruder printer, which is awesome. It means I can print with two different materials or colors at the same time. I started with some basic test prints, you know, just to see how it handles. I was pretty blown away by the print quality, right off the bat. Also, this printer is fast! It’s way quicker than my home printer, which is a big plus for getting work done fast. It’s got this thing called Hyper FFF kit that is supposed to make it even faster, but I haven’t tried that yet.
- Large Build Volume: This thing can print some seriously big objects. It’s got a massive build plate compared to what I’m used to.
- Dual Extrusion: Like I said, being able to print with two materials is a game-changer.
- Easy to Use: Even though it’s a professional-grade printer, it’s surprisingly user-friendly. The touchscreen interface is intuitive, and the software is pretty straightforward. They have those things called ideaMaker and RaiseTouch, and also some firmware stuff you can download if you need it.
- Fast Printing Speed: I’ve been really impressed with how quickly it can print, even complex models.
I’ve only been using it for a week, so I’m still learning the ropes, but so far, I’m really digging this Raise3D Pro3. It’s a serious upgrade from my personal printer, and I can see it making a big difference in my workflow. I heard that it’s pretty pricey, maybe over $7,000, I’m not sure since my boss took care of it. I know that I spent more than 180 hours printing for this article. But if you need a reliable, large-format, dual extruder printer, I think it’s worth checking out. Oh, and this brand also has some other series like the Pro3 HS, the DF2, and the RMF500, maybe for other use cases or other budgets, I don’t know.
My Overall Impression
It is a great experience so far. It’s a solid machine, and I’m excited to see what else I can create with it. I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress. This thing is a beast, and I’m loving it!
