More TV Shows Like Legend of the Seeker (Your Next Adventure)

Okay, so, I’ve been diving deep into the world of fantasy TV shows lately, and it got me thinking about one of my all-time favorites: “Legend of the Seeker.” I gotta say, finding shows that capture that same magic is harder than I thought! But I didn’t give up, and I’ve been on a bit of a quest myself to find some worthy successors. Here’s how it all went down.

First off, I hit up all the usual spots – you know, Netflix, Amazon, iTunes, you name it. I was scrolling through pages and pages, looking for anything that screamed “Seeker vibes.” I found a few that seemed okay, but nothing that really grabbed me. It was a bit of a letdown, to be honest.

Then, I thought, “Why not ask the internet?” So I dove into some online forums. I stumbled upon this one called r/Fantasy, which is apparently a big deal for speculative fiction fans. I posted about my search, hoping some fellow fantasy nerds could point me in the right direction. And boy, did they deliver!

Someone mentioned “The Wheel of Time,” saying it’s been a big deal for the last three decades. I hadn’t heard of it, but it sounded promising, so I added it to my list. Another person recommended a show about a woodsman named Richard Cypher, which, if you know “Legend of the Seeker,” you know is the main character’s name. So that was a bit of a circle back, but still, it showed people were understanding what I was looking for.

  • Then Things Got Interesting

I started getting into the music side of things, thinking maybe the soundtrack could lead me to similar shows. Someone suggested “Rhiannon” by Fleetwood Mac as a good match for the magical world of Merlin, which I thought was a cool idea. And then there was the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer Theme” by Nerf Herder. I love Buffy, but it wasn’t exactly what I was going for this time.

But then, I hit gold. A user recommended a song called “This Is the Hunt” by Ruelle. It had this epic, mystical feel that immediately made me think of “Legend of the Seeker.” This led me to a show called “The Magicians,” which is apparently about a group of young adults who discover that the magical world from their favorite childhood books is real. That sounded right up my alley, so I added it to my watchlist.

I also learned that “Legend of the Seeker” premiered back in 2008 and only got two seasons, which is a bummer. But finding out it was renewed for a second season in January 2009 and premiered on November 7, 2009, was cool. It’s always interesting to know the history behind a show you love. There was even mention of something happening on April 26th, but no year given, so who knows.

So, after all that digging, I’ve got a couple of solid leads. “The Wheel of Time” and “The Magicians” are definitely on my list to watch next. And I’m feeling pretty good about it! It’s been a fun journey, and it just goes to show that sometimes, the best recommendations come from the most unexpected places.

I’ll keep you guys posted on how these shows turn out. Maybe I’ll even find more along the way. Who knows? The quest continues!
