Seeking Thrills Like Last House on the Left? These Horror Films Will Keep You on Edge!

Okay, so today I wanna talk about movies similar to “The Last House on the Left.” It’s a pretty intense film, and I was curious if there’s anything else out there like it. So, I went on a little hunt to find some.

First, I jumped onto Letterboxd. It’s this cool site where you can log and review movies. I typed in “The Last House on the Left” and quickly found a section that said something like “similar films.” There were like 80 movies listed there! 80! Can you believe it? I jotted down a few that caught my eye, like “The Hills Have Eyes” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.” These seemed to have that same gritty, intense vibe I was looking for.

Then, I switched over to some streaming sites like Netflix and Prime Video. I searched for each of those titles to see if they were available. A couple were, which was awesome. I also stumbled upon this random list of “24 Movies Like The Last House on the Left,” which was super helpful. It introduced me to a bunch of other films I’d never heard of.

Then I remembered a suggestion from a film fan friend of mine. They recommended checking out the original “I Spit On Your Grave.” He said it’s a classic and it’s wonderfully shot. I added that to my list, too.

I also browsed through some lists for horror fans, you know, the ones about jump scares and all that. I wanted to find something that wasn’t just about the scares but also had a good story. That’s when I found a list that talked about critically acclaimed horror films.

Oh, and I found this one called “House Hunting”. This movie is about 2 families, they go to an isolated open house, but they find a girl with no tongue and they can’t leave. I saw it’s on Philo, Xumo Play and some other channels. Definitely adding this one to my watchlist.

My Watchlist

So, after all that digging, here’s what I’ve got on my watchlist:

  • The Hills Have Eyes (1977)
  • The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)
  • I Spit On Your Grave (original)
  • House Hunting

I’m pretty excited to check these out. It took some time to compile this list, but I think it’ll be worth it. If you’ve seen any of these, let me know what you think! And if you have any other recommendations for movies like “The Last House on the Left,” I’m all ears. I’m always up for a good, intense movie night!
