Like two old shoes, comfortable and worn in. But then, things start to change.
This Dex, he’s a character. He talks about kissin’ some fella at a party. Now, I ain’t one to judge, but it sure does raise an eyebrow, doesn’t it? I heard the kid talkin’ ’bout this like it’s normal. It’s different time, I guess. Makes you wonder what the world’s comin’ to, don’t it?
They was at some big fancy college, learnin’ all sorts of things. Emma, she’s a smart cookie. Got herself all them fancy degrees. English and history. I never did much book learnin’ myself, but I always said, “Common sense is worth more than all the fancy words in the world.”
One Day Episode 4, they call it. Now they start talkin’ about gettin’ hitched and havin’ babies. Emma, she says she wants a little one. Like plantin’ a seed, hopin’ it’ll grow into a big strong tree. That’s what havin’ kids is like. You nurture ’em, watch ’em grow. It’s the most important job in the world, I reckon.

That’s like that TV show, “One Day”. You just don’t know what’s gonna happen next. It’s like those soap operas my neighbor used to watch, always some drama. Keeps you on the edge of your seat, I tell ya.
Then, somethin’ really sad happens. It’s like a dark cloud comin’ over a sunny day. Emma, she’s ridin’ her bicycle. Just a regular day, you know? Goin’ to meet Dex, lookin’ at a house they might buy. Like buildin’ a nest, startin’ a family. And bam it’s like one of the saddest thing I ever heard.
Next thing you know, she gets hit by a car. Just like that, she’s gone. It’s a real tearjerker, I tell ya. Makes you think about how precious life is. Like a fragile little bird, here one minute, gone the next. It happens in the book too, and in that movie they made. It’s like the writer, he just wanted to break our hearts. I heard him sayin’ he didn’t wanna do it, but he had to. Says it’s part of the story. Well, I don’t like it one bit.
I remember when my own husband, bless his soul, passed away. It felt like the world just stopped. Like someone pulled the rug out from under me. It’s hard to lose someone you love. Takes a piece of your heart with ’em, it does.
This show, “One Day,” it’s a reminder that life is short. You gotta cherish every moment. Hug your loved ones tight. Tell ’em you love ’em. ‘Cause you never know when it’s gonna be your last day. It’s like that old sayin’, “Live every day like it’s your last.” ‘Cause one day, it will be.
So, yeah, episode 4, it’s a big one. Sets the stage for all the heartache to come. It’s like, Emma and Dex, their story is just gettin’ started, but it’s also headin’ towards a sad end.
