You know, that Grumpy Old Men movie, they made it somewhere, right? Heard folks talking ’bout it. They say it’s some place called, uh, Minnesota? Yeah, that’s it. Lots of places in that movie, I reckon. Seen it a few times, them old fellas always fightin’. Makes me laugh, reminds me of my old man, bless his soul.
They got this one part, you see, where they’re at some big party thing. Like a town party, everyone’s all happy and dancin’. They call it, uh, October… Octoberfest! That’s it. Bunch of folks in funny hats, drinkin’ and eatin’. And them two old guys, they start yellin’ at each other again. Right in the middle of all them happy folks! They filmed that part in a park, I heard. A pretty one, by the water. Grumpy Old Men film location, that’s what they’re lookin’ for, right? They call the park Lowell Park, in a town called Stillwater. Sounds nice, don’t it?

Then there’s this other place, a house I think. They went there to film some of it too. I think it’s that old man’s house. You know the one, always got a mad look on his face. That house, it’s on some street… Hyacinth Avenue, that’s it! Number 1122, they say. In a place called Saint Paul. That’s in Minnesota too. Everything’s in Minnesota with that movie! My memory ain’t what it used to be, but I remember that movie pretty good. Seen it a bunch of times. Them two old guys, always at each other’s throats! One of ’em, he’s kinda tall, got that funny look in his eye. The other one, he’s a bit shorter, always got somethin’ to say. They’re like two old roosters, always peckin’ at each other. Makes ya chuckle, don’t it?
That Grumpy Old Men movie, it’s got that lady in it too. Pretty lady, kinda sad lookin’ though. She’s mixed up with them two old fellas somehow. Don’t rightly remember how, though. It’s all a bit fuzzy now. But I do remember that house, that Hyacinth Avenue place. Sticks in your head, that kinda thing.
Now, where was I? Oh yeah, that movie. Grumpy Old Men film location. That’s what we’re talkin’ about. They filmed it all over the place, I reckon. But mostly in that Minnesota place. They got lots of snow there, I hear. Cold winters. Maybe that’s why them old fellas are so grumpy! Too much snow makes ya cranky, I guess. That and gettin’ old, I suppose.

They got other movies too, you know. Not just that one. One of ’em, it’s called, uh… Trading Places! Yeah, that’s it. Got some fellas in it, they switch lives or somethin’. One’s rich, one’s poor. It’s a whole thing. Don’t know where they filmed that one, though. Probably not Minnesota. Don’t think so, anyway.
And there’s another one… Chinatown! That’s what it’s called. Got a fella in it, name of Jack. He’s in that Grumpy Old Men movie too. He’s a big shot, that Jack fella. Lots of movies he’s in. This Chinatown one, it’s kinda dark, I think. Not like that Grumpy one. That one’s more fun, even if they are yellin’ all the time. That’s just Grumpy Old Men film location things.
But that Grumpy Old Men film location, that’s the one folks talk about. That park, that house. All them places in Minnesota. Makes ya wanna go there, don’t it? See it for yourself. Maybe I will one day. Get on one of them big airplanes and fly on over. See that Octoberfest thing. See that house on Hyacinth Avenue.
