You know, I been watchin’ them moving pictures on that there TV, and I seen one called “The Slumber Party”. Got me thinkin’ about other movies like the slumber party. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I sure do enjoy a good movie night. So, I thought I’d tell you all about some other flicks that kinda remind me of that one.
Now, this ain’t gonna be no fancy list. Just some good old movies I seen that got girls, and sleepovers, and maybe some hijinks. You know, the usual stuff that happens when you get a bunch of young folks together under one roof.
First up, there’s this one called “Sleepover”. Came out back in, oh, 2004 I reckon. It’s about some girls, and they’re havin’ a sleepover, and there’s some kinda scavenger hunt thing. They go all over town lookin’ for stuff. It’s a bit like that “The Slumber Party” one, but with more runnin’ around, I suppose. Lots of laughin’ and carryin’ on. Sleepover is a good one if you like that kinda thing, reminds me of when my Bessie was a young’un.

Then there was another one…what was it called? Oh yeah, “The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. Came out 2005. This one is, well, it’s kinda out there. It’s got some strange folks in it, and they go flyin’ around in space. Now, it ain’t exactly like “The Slumber Party”, not by a long shot. But it’s got that same kinda goofy feel to it. You know, a bunch of folks gettin’ into trouble, but in a fun way. It’s a bit of a head-scratcher, that one, but it made me chuckle.

I remember seein’ somethin’ called “Sorority House Massacre 2”. Now, that sounds a whole heap scarier than “The Slumber Party”, don’t it? And it is, kinda. There’s a whole lot more screamin’ and yellin’ in that one. But it’s still got that same feelin’ of bein’ trapped in a house with a bunch of other folks, just like in The Slumber Party. Only difference is, there’s somethin’ bad goin’ on in that house, somethin’ real bad. It’s kinda like if “The Slumber Party” took a dark turn, if you catch my drift. And for some reason it is related to The Slumber Party. They call this one “The Slumber Party Massacre”, I don’t know why they make it so complicated.

- Sorority House Massacre 2
I was thinkin’ about them other movies, like “Shutter Island” and “Fight Club”, and “Inception”. Now, them’s some serious movies. Not really like “The Slumber Party” at all. They’re more for thinkin’ than laughin’, if you know what I mean. But they’re still good movies, in their own way. Just not what I’d call “slumber party” material, that’s for sure. But if you like to think a lot when watchin’ movies, maybe these are good for you, I guess.
- Shutter Island
- Fight Club
- Inception
If you liked that The Slumber Party movie, you might like them other ones I mentioned. They ain’t all exactly the same, but they got some of the same stuff goin’ on. Girls, sleepovers, maybe some runnin’ around, maybe some scary stuff. It all depends on what you like, I reckon. Just like when you’re pickin’ out a pie at the county fair, you gotta find the one that suits your taste.
I seen a whole lot of movies in my time. Some good, some bad, some just plain weird. But I always enjoy a good story, especially one with a bunch of young folks gettin’ into mischief. Reminds me of the old days, back when I was a young’un myself. We didn’t have no fancy movie machines back then, but we still had our fun. We’d tell stories, and play games, and stay up all night gigglin’ and carryin’ on. Just like in them movies like The Slumber Party, I suppose. Some things just don’t change with time, like good friends having fun together.
So, if you’re lookin’ for some movies like The Slumber Party, that’s the list for you. Hope you enjoy ’em, if you decide to watch them. And don’t forget to have fun and laugh a lot, because life is too short to always be serious. That is what I always say. And eat some popcorns too, movies are always better with popcorns. Now if you will excuse me, I think I am gonna watch some more movies, maybe some old ones this time. Or maybe some new ones, who knows?
