Then there’s this movie, Zulu. Older one, this is. But it’s the same kinda story. Small bunch of British soldiers, stuck in some place far away, fightin’ off a whole army of Zulus. Now, them Zulus, they were fierce fighters, I tell ya. Lots of spears and shields, and not a lot of fear. Makes you wonder how them British boys ever made it through.
Another one, more modern, is 13 Hours. This one’s about some Americans over in Benghazi, Libya. Same kinda deal, outnumbered, outgunned, but they gotta fight. It’s loud, it’s scary, and it makes ya think ’bout what’s goin’ on in the world these days.
And don’t forget about Black Hawk Down. That one’s a real mess. American soldiers in Somalia, things go bad real quick. Helicopters crashin’, people gettin’ shot… it’s just chaos. But them boys, they keep fightin’. They don’t give up, even when it looks like there ain’t no hope.
Act of Valor, that’s another one you might like. What’s special ‘bout this one is that they got real Navy SEALs starin’ in it. Not actors playin’ soldiers, but the real deal. So, when you see them movin’ and shootin’, you know it’s the real way they do it. That Kurt Johnstad fella, he wrote it all down, they say.
Now, you can find a lot of these movies on them Netflix and Amazon and such. Easy to watch ‘em right there in your own house. Don’t gotta go to no movie theater, spend all that money on popcorn. Just sit back, relax, and watch them boys fight.
These war movies, they ain’t always easy to watch. They can be sad, they can be scary, and they can make you angry. But they’re important, ya know? They show you what some folks go through to keep us safe. They show you what courage looks like, what sacrifice looks like. And sometimes, they even show you a little bit of hope.
