Korean Series Review: My Honest Opinion

Alright, listen up, y’all. I’ve been watchin’ these Korean shows lately, and I gotta tell ya, some are good, some are bad, and some are just plain weird. Don’t expect no fancy words from me, I’m just gonna tell it like it is.

First off, let’s talk about that “World of the Married” one. Heard it was real popular, like everyone and their grandma was watchin’ it. And yeah, it was kinda juicy. You know, man cheats on his wife, wife gets mad, all that drama. Kept me guessin’ what was gonna happen next, that’s for sure. Lots of screamin’ and cryin’, just like real life, I guess. But, gotta say, some parts dragged on a bit too long. Like, get to the point already! They said somethin’ about it havin’ super high ratings, somethin’ like almost one outta five TVs was watchin’ it. That’s a whole lotta folks! And that last episode, aired on the 16th they say, whew, that was somethin’ else. Ended with a bang, I tell ya. But honestly, I don’t know if I’d watch it again. Too much heartache.

Now, there’s this other one, “Squid Game.” People kept talkin’ about it, so I figured, why not? Well, let me tell you, it was… different. Real different. All these folks playin’ kids’ games, but if they lose, they die. Crazy, right? But it kinda makes you think, you know? About money, and how far people will go to get it. Some of them games were scary, though. Like that red light, green light one? Gave me the chills. And the characters, some were good, some were bad, some were just plain stupid. But that’s how it is everywhere I guess, not just in the show. But if you ain’t seen it yet, give it a try. Just don’t watch it before bed, you might have nightmares.

  • Good things about these shows:
    • They keep you entertained, that’s for sure.
    • Lots of drama, keeps you guessin’.
    • Make you think about stuff, sometimes.
  • Bad things:
    • Sometimes too long, draggin’ on and on.
    • Too much cryin’ and screamin’, my ears hurt.
    • Some of them stories are just too weird for me.

Another thing I noticed about these Korean shows, they’re long. Real long. Like, more than 16 episodes sometimes. That’s a lot of watchin’, I tell ya. And they got all sorts of characters. Rich folks, poor folks, good folks, bad folks, you name it. Some of them you love, some of them you hate, some of them you just wanna slap. But that’s what makes it interestin’, I guess. You get invested in these people’s lives even if they’re just pretendin’.

I ain’t no expert or nothin’, but I like a good story. And these Korean shows, they got stories alright. Some are happy, some are sad, some are just plain crazy. But they keep me comin’ back for more. Probably ‘cause there ain’t much else to do ‘round here anyways. But seriously, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ new to watch, give them Korean shows a try. Just don’t blame me if you get hooked.

So, yeah, that’s my take on these Korean shows. Like I said, some are good, some are bad, but they’re definitely somethin’ different. And sometimes, different is good. Keeps things from gettin’ too boring, you know? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go see what else is on. Heard there’s this new one about a zombie apocalypse, sounds right up my alley. Just hope it ain’t too scary, I don’t need no more nightmares.

And one last thing, I hear tell some folks don’t like subtitles. Well, let me tell you, you get used to ‘em. After a while, you don’t even notice them no more. And besides, it’s good for your brain, learnin’ a little somethin’ new. Or so they say. Anyways, that’s all I got to say. Go watch some Korean shows, or don’t. I ain’t your mama.
