Mama Os Kimchi Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

Mama Os Kimchi Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

Alright, let’s talk about this Mama O’s Kimchi. I heard about it on that TV show, you know, the one with all the rich folks looking to put their money somewhere. Shark Tank, that’s it. This fella, Kheedim Oh, he went on there selling his mama’s kimchi. Said he started with 50 bucks and a skateboard. Can you believe that? 50 bucks! That ain’t even enough to buy a good pair of shoes these days.

Anyway, they call it “premium” kimchi. Now, I’ve been eatin’ kimchi my whole life, and let me tell you, “premium” just means they charge you more. But I figured, what the heck, let’s give it a try. So I went and got some. They got all sorts of flavors, even a vegan one, whatever that means. They got it on that Amazon website, and I hear you can get it at them big stores like Target and Walmart now too. Must be doin’ alright for themselves, even without gettin’ any money from them sharks.

First thing I noticed, it’s salty. Real salty. And kinda…flat. You know, kimchi is supposed to have that zing, that umami they call it. This one, it’s missin’ somethin’. I tried a few different kinds, the regular one, the spicy one. They all tasted kinda the same to me. Not bad, mind you, just nothin’ special. I make better kimchi myself, and I ain’t usin’ no fancy stuff.

Mama Os Kimchi Review: Is It Worth the Hype?
  • The taste? Salty, not much else.
  • The smell? Like kimchi, I guess. Nothin’ fancy.
  • The price? Too high, if you ask me.

This Kheedim fella, he seems like a nice young man. He loves his mama, that’s for sure. And he’s tryin’ to make a livin’. I respect that. He even had his mama on the show, teachin’ them sharks how to make kimchi. That was cute. But at the end of the day, it’s the kimchi that matters. And this kimchi, it just ain’t all that.

They say it’s got all them vitamins and stuff, good for your health. Well, so does cabbage, and that don’t cost an arm and a leg. They were askin’ for a quarter of a million dollars for just 10% of their company! That’s a whole lotta money for some pickled cabbage, let me tell you. They say the company’s worth two and a half million now. Good for them, I guess, but I ain’t seein’ it.

Now, I ain’t sayin’ don’t try it. Maybe you like salty kimchi. Maybe you got money to burn. But me? I’ll stick to my own recipe. It’s cheaper, tastier, and it’s made with love. And that’s what real kimchi is all about.

They say it’s handmade and gourmet. Maybe it is. But to me, it just tastes like…well, like kimchi that needs somethin’ more. Like a good pinch of somethin’ special that grandma used to add, you know? That somethin’ that makes you say, “Ah, that’s the good stuff.” This Mama O’s kimchi, it just didn’t make me say that.

So, there you have it. My honest opinion on this Mama O’s Kimchi. Take it or leave it. It ain’t the worst thing I ever ate, but it sure ain’t the best. Maybe if they added a little somethin’ somethin’, a little more oomph, it’d be worth the money. But for now, I’ll save my pennies and stick to what I know.

And that’s all I gotta say about that.
