Alright, let me tell ya’ how to stick them movie bits together in that DaVinci thingamajig. Don’t you worry, it ain’t rocket science, even this old gal figured it out.
First off, you gotta get them movie bits, the clips they call ’em, down there on that timeline thingy. You know, the long strip at the bottom where all the pictures line up? Yeah, that’s the one. Now, you gotta pick the ones you wanna smush together.
See, pickin’ them clips is easy peasy. You just hold down that “Control” button, the one that says “CTRL” on it, and click on each clip you want. It’s like pickin’ beans from the garden, one by one. Or, if you got one of them fancy MacBooks, you gotta hold down that “Command” button instead. Same difference, just a different name, like callin’ a rooster a cock, ya know?
- Click, click, click. Just like that. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
- Make sure you get all the ones you want, don’t leave none behind.
Okay, now you got your clips all picked out, right? Now comes the part where you stick ’em together like glue. You gotta right-click, you know, press the button on the right side of that mouse thingy. A whole bunch of words gonna pop up, don’t get scared now.
You gotta look for the words that say “New Compound Clip”. It’s like makin’ a stew, you’re puttin’ all the ingredients together to make somethin’ new. Click on that “New Compound Clip” thingy and another little window gonna pop up.
This here window is askin’ you to give your new stuck-together clip a name. Don’t go callin’ it nothin’ silly now. Give it a name that makes sense, so you know what it is later on. Like, if it’s the part where the cow jumps over the moon, call it “Cow Jumpin’”. Keep it simple, stupid.
After you typed in the name, you gotta click on that “Create” button. It’s like sayin’ “Okay, go ahead and do it!” to the computer. And bam! That little window disappears, and you’re done.
Now them clips ain’t separate no more. They all stuck together like peas in a pod. You can move ’em around together, cut ’em together, do whatever you wanna do with ’em, all as one piece. It’s like tyin’ the knot, they ain’t comin’ apart unless you tell ’em to.
And that’s all there is to it. See? I told ya’ it wasn’t hard. Now you can go on and make your movie, or whatever it is you’re doin’ with them clips. Just remember, pick ’em, right-click ’em, name ’em, and create ’em. Easy as pie.
Don’t let them fancy words and buttons scare ya’. It’s all just tools, like a hammer and nails. You just gotta learn how to use ’em. And once you do, you can build anything you want. Or in this case, stick any movie bits together you want. And that, my friend, is that.
