Well, you wanna know where “Manhunt” was filmed, eh? Let me tell you, most of it was shot in a place called Savannah, Georgia. It’s a right pretty spot, full of old buildings and trees all tangled up with Spanish moss hangin’ down like somebody’s granny’s shawl. Now, Savannah’s got this nice historic district, and that’s where most of the show took place. You can just picture them actors walking down them old streets like they done stepped right outta history books, can’t ya?
Now, there’s this one scene in the show that happens inside Ford’s Theatre. That part wasn’t filmed in Washington, D.C. like you might think. Nope! They took that scene and shot it up at a place called Miller Theater in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I reckon they did it ’cause the Miller Theater’s got the right look, and they needed it to look just like the old Ford’s Theatre. Real tricky business to recreate a place that old, especially when you’re tryin’ to make it look just like it did when President Lincoln was shot.
Now, don’t go thinkin’ all of “Manhunt” was filmed in big cities. Nah, there’s parts of the show that were shot in some real pretty, quiet spots too, like Red Top Mountain State Park. That park’s over in Georgia, and it sure does look nice with them big ol’ trees and hills. They even filmed a few things up on North Main Street, right there in the heart of the city. It’s a mix of old and new, kinda like how they tell the story in the show itself—parts of it feel like they come right outta history, and other parts of it are modern-day realness.
Now, I don’t know about you, but when I watch a show like “Manhunt,” I like to know where they filmed it. Makes it feel like I’ve been there too. There’s somethin’ special about Savannah, I tell ya. You can see all them old buildings and cobblestone streets, and it just takes ya back. Makes you feel like you’re walkin’ alongside them characters, like you’re a part of it all.
Some of them sets you see in “Manhunt” ain’t real places though. They built them up real good, just like how they do in the movies. But, like I said, when they could, they went to real places, like that Miller Theater in Philly. They had to be real careful about protectin’ them historic buildings too, ’cause you can’t just go messin’ with a piece of history like that.
It wasn’t just Savannah and Philadelphia where they filmed, though. They got some other spots in Georgia, like them state parks, and they did their best to make them look like places from the past. You know, it’s one thing to film in an old building, but when you’re workin’ with a story that’s all about real history, you gotta make sure every little detail is just right. And that’s exactly what they did with this show, and it really paid off.
So, if you ever find yourself wanderin’ through Savannah or Philadelphia, keep your eyes peeled! Might just find a spot where they filmed some of them scenes from “Manhunt.” It’s like a little secret hidden in plain sight, and it’s kind of nice to know the places where it all came to life.
